The project comprised of fire prevention works within the University of Southampton’s synthetic Chemistry building located on the Highfield campus in response to both the buildings fire risk assessment and to improve the buildings resilience/ Business continuity plan in the event of an incident. The works included both remedial and enhancement of the buildings fire compartmentation over five floors to stairwells and lobbies, introduction of fire breaks to reduce fire travel distance and the replacement of fire doors.
